Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of talking therapy which has been shown, through research, to be extremely successful in treating all kinds of mental health problems.

A specially trained therapist will work with you to identify thoughts, emotions, feelings and behaviours that may be having a negative effect on your life. They then work with you to explore ways to make positive changes and overcome difficulties. Your therapist will teach you to use techniques specifically selected for you, such as activity scheduling, behavioural activation and cognitive restructuring which will help you feel better and help deal with any problems in the future. The aim is for you to become your own therapist which will then help you through any of life's complications.
